Itinerary:
Day 1-3: We depart Maun at 07:30 am therefore it is advised to spend the previous night at a lodge in Maun. The tour heads to the Moremi Game Reserve which has been described as one of the best wildlife areas in Africa. Moremi is located on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta and is characterised by floodplains, forests, rivers, open grasslands and papyrus fringed lagoons. The drive to Moremi takes about 6 hours but includes leisurely game drive in the park before arriving at the campsite.
The campsites are private and unfenced with only one group allocated to a site. The tents are specious bow tents with mattresses provided. Toilets and showers will be set up and will be bush showers and toilets.
Mornings and afternoons are spent on game drives in the morning game reserve with evenings enjoyed around the camp fire.
Day 4: We travel to Chobe National Park with our first overnight stay in the Savuti Region named after the marsh of the same name which has recently started keeping water again after many years of drought. The marsh is well known for birding and Savuti as a whole is the place to come to view predators in Botswana.
Day 5: We make our way to the Chobe River front and camp at another private campsite. Chobe National Park is world famous for the population density of elephant which is unsurpassed anywhere else in the world. It is a sight to behold to see all the herds lining the river front having a drink in the Chobe River.
Day 6: Today we spend the morning and afternoon on game drives along the Chobe River front.
Day 7: We leave the parks and cross the Zambezi River by ferry into Zambia with our final destination being Livingstone. This afternoon there will be time to visit the Victoria Falls.
Day 8: Safari comes to an end after breakfast.
